I Know Him So Well (Beginner) 1
Barbara Dickson & Elaine Paige
Level: Beginners (very easy)
I Know Him So Well is a well-known duet from the musical Chess, written by the men behind ABBA: Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, together with lyricist Tim Rice. The song was high in the charts in 1984. Elaine Paige and Barbara Dickson sang the duet and told the story of two women in love with the same man.
In this piano tutorial, you play the melody with your right hand and accompany yourself with one finger of your left hand. You can also try the intermediate version, in which you play chords with your left hand.
Tips for Playing
✔ Practice step by step: Repeat the Slow section as many times as needed until you feel comfortable, then move on to the next chapter.
✔ Hands separately first: Start by practicing the right hand (melody), then the left hand, and finally both together.
✔ Play with a partner: One person can play the melody while the other plays the accompaniment—great for learning together!
✔ Practice daily: Even just 15 minutes a day will help you improve steadily.
✔ Take your time: enjoy the process, and have fun playing!
